History and Mile stones
Since 1999, founders and current partners of ROOTS Solutions have been
pioneers in developing the VAS industry in the Middle-East and North Africa Region.
Following is a summary of the work ROOTS’ team has accomplished:

1999 MEA : establishing,
running and managing IVR platforms in Qatar, Kuwait and
Bahrain for Call-Moyen-Orient Company under the respective names of Qatar-Call,
Kuwait-Call and Bahrain-Call.
•
2002 Lebanon : establishing the first premium SMS
HTTP connection with Lebanon’s two operator: Alfa and MTC-TOUCH.
•
2003 Syria :
IVR and SMS platforms for Syrian Operators Syriatel and Areeba under the commercial
name of Syria-Call
•
2003 Saudi Arabia : IVR Platform under the name of SAUDI-Call in KSA
market for the only Saudi Operator present at time STC. The connection included
120 E1 lines and ran applications and promotions reaching a peak of 150,000 Calls
per day. Biggest promotion of 36 Mercedes-Benz Cars during the holy month of Ramadan.
2004 – promotion of 7 Million Saudi Riyals – 2 Million USD in cash.

2004 Greece :
establishing a SMS platform under the name of Greece-Call connected to Vodafone and Telestet
operators.
•
2005 Egypt: integrating a complete solution for one of the First TV Interactive
TV channels in the MEA (ETV – Entertainment TV). This operation included peaks of
50,000 SMS per day during promotions.
•
2006 Saudi Arabia : first introduction of the
RMP® “ROOTS
Messaging Platform” without Branding in the following
companies: o Peacock Advertising: 58 SMPP connected shortcodes. 3 operators’ connections.
A peak traffic of 120,000 SMS per day. Speed of outgoing Bulk SMS of 76 SMS/second.
o SmartCall: 3 operators – 46 shortcodes. o StarCall: 3 Operators – 22 Shortcodes.

2007 Egypt: Running technically up to 11 at one time interactive fully-automated

2008 Lebanon : Introduction of RMP® for end-customers. Operating under the name
of COMEX. 6 SMPP operator connections. 48 HTTP VAS provider connections throughout
the Arab World. Peaks of 250,000 SMS/day during the Final Vote of Star Academy MEA.
120,000 SMS during 8 hours in 2009/2010 New years Eve event organized on Regional
Live show transmitted in 24 Arab Countries.

2009 KSA and Lebanon : Establishing Fully-owned operation in KSA and in Lebanon
with 5 operators and 22 shortcodes, running promotions and news delivery services.
